Information You Submit
Search terms
A name or location entered in a search box is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. We do not store or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages
If you email or send a contact message, we retain the details needed to read and answer it. We do not share the message outside our organization unless law requires disclosure.
Automatic Technical Data
Normal web operations may record technical data when a page loads, including:
- Internet Protocol address;
- browser name and version;
- device type and operating system;
- pages visited and time spent;
- the referring site, when supplied; and
- request dates and timestamps.
Cookies
Cookies help measure visits and understand which features work well. Browser controls can block or delete them, though some functions may then behave differently.
How Data Is Used
Collected data may be used to operate and secure the site, route a query to the correct partner, measure which pages are useful, diagnose technical faults, improve speed, and display advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests.
Links and Outside Services
Links may lead to sheriff contacts, jail resources, Kentucky VINE, courts, corrections pages, federal locators, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor leaves, the destination's privacy policy controls its collection and use of data.
Advertising providers may use their own technology to measure activity across websites and select ads. That tracking occurs on their systems and is governed by their terms.
Who May Receive Data
We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be handled by:
- search partners that process a submitted query;
- analytics vendors that measure traffic;
- advertising networks that serve or assess ads; and
- law-enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.
Security Practices
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards suited to a public website. No internet service, storage system, or transmission method is fully secure, so we cannot promise that a breach or unauthorized access will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under eighteen. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted data may use the Get in Touch page to request review and deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and our ability to verify a request, you may ask for a copy of personal data we hold, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, or an opt-out from certain processing. Browser tools also allow cookie controls. These rights concern data held by this site, not records maintained by Menifee County, a jail, a court, or another linked source.
Policy Changes
We may revise this notice as services or legal duties change. The updated text and effective date will be posted here when a revision takes effect.
